The following are lists of student supplied materials for classes (unless
otherwise noted). If you have any questions on this, do not hesitate to
contact me well in advance of class. Apples are not oranges, so try to be
as exact with these materials as possible.
"Dancing Rubber Fish" supplies/materials furnished by student
- All materials and supplies provided by
instructor...unless they want to bring some of their own images to try this
with in the last part of the class. Maybe some EP's they want to dust
off and bring up out of the basement.
"Spritz Me, Baby...Mo' Bettah!"
supplies/materials furnished by student
- Some of their favorite broad-tipped
water-based markers (Tombow, Marvey, Crayola...whatever). in a wide range of
values (light, medium and dark)
- If you wish, some favorite medium-size to
large-size FBM stamps, but many are provided.
- CAUTION: Chlorine bleach is used in
this class. Due to the caustic nature of this chemical, students are
STRONGLY warned of the hazards! Safety materials may include - but are not
limited to - latex gloves, a work apron, and eye protection.
"Elegant Mess" supplies/materials
furnished by student
- cutting mat (ideally, larger than 3"x4"
and smaller 9"x12")
- X-acto or craft knife (preferably not
scissors)
- metal ruler or straight edge for cutting
straight lines
- at least 6 Luminarte H2O's or one
of the USArtQuest PearlEx round palettes. (If using the H2O's,
add water to these the day prior to class. The top portion, at least, needs to be
"goopy", as in the consistency of honey. This
is important! Do not think to over look this necessity!)
Color selection is up to student, but I suggest you stick with medium
values: not extra light and not extra dark.
- work apron (strongly advised)
"The Rest Of The Mess"
supplies/materials furnished by student
- cutting mat (ideally, larger than
3"x4" and smaller 9"x12")
- Xacto or craft knife (preferably not
scissors)
- metal ruler or straight edge for cutting
straight lines
- at least 6 Luminarte/Creative Imagination H2Os
or one of the USArtQuest PearlEx round palettes. (For the H2Os,
add water to these the day prior to class. The top, most accessible
portion needs to be fairly pasty. This is important!)
Color selection is up to student.
- work apron (strongly advised)
- black Sharpie Ultra Fine or other
permanent marker
- white Prismacolor pencil (a great opaque
white!)
- opaque colored pencils.
Prismacolor is fairly consistent in this regard.
- a couple favored regular PIGMENT - not
acrylic and not dye! - reinkers or a few tubes of watercolor paints
to add to white relief printing ink mentioned below.
...and possibly (check
with the store)
- 2½" soft rubber brayers
- Speedball white water-based relief printing
ink
- palette knives
